This needs to happen, multidisciplinary arts coming together is always a good thing especially when allowing the viewer to engage.
Aaron Koblin
Aaron Koblin is my new favorite conceptual artist. His application of crowdsourcing and making non-integrated tangentially participatory people into data points that then form a cohesive piece of art is a forward thinking idea. I love the idea of the integration of art into peoples live whether they know it or not. The data that is being collected then transformed into art is amazing. Using data, things, anything in a non-conventional way in order to generate something new and progressive is great. The video of the flight patterns is simplistic in nature but when i was viewing it all i could think about is the kinetic nature of our species and how nomadism is an antiquated descriptor but in reality its still apparent in our day to day lives. He has lots of content online here are a few tidbits of goodness.

Not that big on the fact that this is a BMW commercial but still this dude is brilliant and i want to learn more about him. i love when artists push the boundaries of their minds and art and are completely forward thinking.

Murmur Study
Murmur Study is an installation that examines the rise of micro-messaging technologies such as Twitter and Facebook’s status update. One might describe these messages as a kind of digital small talk. But unlike water-cooler conversations, these fleeting thoughts are accumulated, archived and digitally-indexed by corporations. While the future of these archives remains to be seen, the sheer volume of publicly accessible personal — often emotional — expression should give us pause.
This installation consists of 30 thermal printers that continuously monitor Twitter for new messages containing variations on common emotional utterances. Messages containing hundreds of variations on words such as argh, meh, grrrr, oooo, ewww, and hmph, are printed as an endless waterfall of text accumulating in tangled piles below.
Right now this is my new fav. installation. So insightfull, simple and poignant. Completely relevant in todays time as well...good job :)

I'm glad that artists are looking at our pets and companions as art....at behavioral observers of our human condition. these creatures represent who and what we are...to a degree but i am glad that they are being acknowledged.
About the photographer:
Maarten Wetsema studied at the Art Academy of Arnhem. In 2004 he exhibited at Comme des Garçons in Tokyo. In 2005 he took part in Photo London and the KunstRai in Amsterdam, in 2006 his work was exhibited in both France and Miami, USA. In 2007, his work was shown at the Gallery Van Kranendonk in Miami, Paris and the Netherlands. His work is part of numerous national and international collections of private parties, companies and museums.

David Byrne's Bike racks
These are great and its a great way of getting people to bike around more. Cbus should hire a local artist to do something similar to this around town to promote this type of transportation.
