Ginsberg inspired a generation witht this poem. the beats were and are still the shit. cant wait to see this film. this is what i was reading in highschool. i probably should revist all this as an adult.

This needs to happen, multidisciplinary arts coming together is always a good thing especially when allowing the viewer to engage.

My StraightEdge Days
In the 90's i learned a lot about myself and these guys helped. i was non stop with school, work and fundraisers. i was active in the community and the punk scene was inclusive, vibrant and peaceful. i truly enjoyed being a part of it and volunteering my time at benefit shows and trying to have an impact on my community. i met some wonderful people and i learned a lot and saw a lot of peoples personal fires and souls rise up and make a change. i look back fondly on those days and that time of my life. here are a few vids of the music that helped make things interesting back then.

light art
Prepare to be sucked in to a liquid vortex, a celestial extravaganza of wondrous visions and ethereal sounds. pool of mesmerizing liquid illuminations, eight floating balls act as the inputs. Music and visuals are created from the interplay between you,the balls and virtual objects.

Aaron Koblin
Aaron Koblin is my new favorite conceptual artist. His application of crowdsourcing and making non-integrated tangentially participatory people into data points that then form a cohesive piece of art is a forward thinking idea. I love the idea of the integration of art into peoples live whether they know it or not. The data that is being collected then transformed into art is amazing. Using data, things, anything in a non-conventional way in order to generate something new and progressive is great. The video of the flight patterns is simplistic in nature but when i was viewing it all i could think about is the kinetic nature of our species and how nomadism is an antiquated descriptor but in reality its still apparent in our day to day lives. He has lots of content online here are a few tidbits of goodness.

Infrared Flu Cameras in japan
At the Tokyo’s Narita International Airport youll find an infrared camera, a part of Japan’s ongoing war on germs, designed to spot people with fevers.Depending on how high your body temperature is they might pull you aside for some questions. Depending on your the answers to those questions the Narita doctors might just give you an aspirin and some pamphlets, or they might send you to the nearest hospital for some tests. It might seem a little draconian, but the Japanese like having one of the world’s longest life expectancies with the help of one of the highest performing, lowest cost health care systems in the world. A big part of their system is information-gathering and prevention, keeping tabs on small health concerns before they become big concerns. But what have they done against the war on Sonic Diarrhea???
Homunculus
Conceived of and directed by Sam Stephens, Homunculus is a dark and twisted fable of spontaneous generation and untrammeled id. Taking its title from the Latin word for “Little Human”, the piece is an associative mashup between the two concepts behind the word: The first being middle-age alchemical beliefs that “little men” could be spontaneous generated from dead or decaying matter. The second being Carl Jung’s usage as a personification of pure id. Such a fun and slightly distubring film and any time the ID or ego or the self is artfully represented im game.
