Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job!
Dan and I went to the Newport last night to catch the live Tim and Eric tour. If you have never seen the show on adult swim its 11 minutes of madness, check it out and be confused. The show was fantastic, really really funny. The place was packed and the crowd was really into it. People dressed up like characters from the show including the Beaver Boys. They had some of the regulars from the show make appearances and do bits. It was like a pyschedelic deranged comedy show.

JR and the new participatory Art
JR is blowing up, he hails from France....i think. He is pretty secrective and stays anonymous given the large scale narture of his artwork. He has done massive urban assaults then has had the cities ask him to do major buildings wrapped in his photos. The guy has a great eye and has applied his pictures beautifully to many diverse landscapes ranging from the favelas of brazil to the separation wall in israel. His face to face project gained him notoriety and can be checked out on dailymotion.com along with his other works. This month there is a feature on him in the new Juxtapoz magazine.

Nancy Callan
Tracy and I along with Jan and Ryan made a trip up to Hawk Gallery last night to check out the opening for the new Nancy Callan exhibit. I think i have seen her stuff up there in the past some older works. I've liked it because its sort of a superimposition of design and craft. But now i like it more after hearing her speak, she is really nice and sincere and has a good spirit to her.

Black Holes
Again reverting to my fascination with this genre. I've been listening to Black Holes non stop all week. I love this booty house buzzed out electro stuff. The buzzed beats just kicks you in the mouth. They are coming in from Chicago to play Sweatin on friday along with Bearries and Adulture. Should be a pop lock and droppin good time. Not a super fan of the video, lots of jiggling girl parts which is played.....but guilty fun non the less. The song is pretty dope though.

Fleet Foxes
I've been diggin these guys today especially this song. They are called Fleet Foxes and they are from washington, the song is called Mykonos. Such a well structured song, very nice, great vocal harmonizing as well. They did a great job on SNL.
Inauguration
I got to see the inauguration today at work. They set up a projection screen and showed the whole thing. It was great, I went with some friends and checked it out. His speech was great lots of good lines in it for sure. The thing that got me the most was the crowd. It was massive, I love seeing when people get together and converge on something, especially something meaningfull and positive.

Cometbus
Lately i've been in this mode of documentation, pretty much about anything really. So i started to think how much i like the zince Cometbus. First off i like zines in general and i like the fact that they are still around and that not everyone has sold out to the blogosphere like the rest of us :) Aaron Cometbus has been handwriting this zine since 1983 documenting the punk scene and lifestyle in the bay area. Everything from band and show reviews to squatting. Ups to my girl karen out in the left coast for turning me on to this and for being the major contributor to my cometbus collection.

Killin the Masses
Jesus these guys are killin peeps across the globe. They are on the cover of BPM and good for them. They gig all the time all around the world and people are losing their minds when they play. A local DJ (and a great one at that) her name is Moxy got to play with them in France and she said they Kilt the decks and were nice dudes. So ups to them.
Haka
I love the Haka dance the new zealand rugby team, the all blacks, does the haka before they start the match. I think im going to start doind the haka in the mornings before i go to work...just to get my blood moving. The Haka isnt necessarily a war dance but i'm pretty sure the all blacks are doing the peruperu haka to invoke the god of war. I need to watch this full match i'm sure the game was ugly.
